Terrazzo — installed & in-a-box

Stone, scattered on purpose.

Terrazzo is cement, stone, and nerve — seeded by hand, ground flat, and polished until the room has a point of view. We install it, we restore it, and we box the whole ritual so you can pour it yourself.

What we do

Three ways to get a floor with a spine.

Installed by our crew, revived from under somebody’s regrettable carpet, or poured by you at your own kitchen counter.

Full installs

Poured on site, ground flat, polished to satin. Our crew treats your slab the way a quarry treats a good vein: slowly, and with respect.

Restoration

Under the carpet of every decent prewar building is terrazzo waiting for an apology. We grind back the years and reseal for the next fifty.

DIY kits

Pre-measured matrix, curated stone, the field guide. Everything but the confidence — that arrives mid-pour.

Proof, poured in place.

Every image on this site is drawn live from the project’s actual mix recipe. No photographers, no filters — just the math of the floor.

The kits

Terrazzo, but you pour it.

Pre-measured matrix, curated stone, a 32-page field guide, and a hotline answered by people with trowel calluses.

Three sizes, from a weekend of coasters to a full entryway. Pour it in our Classico blend — or design your own mix and we’ll weigh the stone by hand, jar by jar, seeded to order.

The process

Slow floors, done right.

Six steps, several weeks, zero shortcuts. Cement doesn’t negotiate, and neither do we.

  1. 01Consult

Bring the plans, the tear-outs, the doubts. We measure, we listen, and we’re honest about budget before anyone falls in love.

  2. 02Sample

Three pucks in the mail. Kick them, spill wine on them, live with them in your actual light for a week.

  3. 03Prep & pour

Substrate leveled, dividers set, matrix tinted, stone seeded by hand. The loud day — usually just the one.

  4. 04Cure

We wait; you brag. The cement does its slow chemistry while you tell the neighbors what’s coming.

  5. 05Grind & polish

Diamond pass after diamond pass until the aggregate opens up and the surface goes satin.

  6. 06Seal

A penetrating sealer, a coat of wax, and after that the only maintenance is deciding who’s allowed in the room.

Kind words, unpaid

Word of mouth, load-bearing.

They talk about aggregate the way sommeliers talk about soil. Then they poured a kitchen floor that made our architect quietly furious with envy.

M. Okafor, Silver Lake

The kit arrived with a field guide and a phone number. I called it twice mid-pour. Both times, a human who has actually troweled a floor picked up.

D. Nguyen, Oakland

Our bar floor has survived four New Year’s Eves and one small kitchen fire. It looks better than it did on opening night, which is more than I can say for us.

R. Calloway, Marfa

Ready when you are

Start with the floor. Everything else in the room is negotiable.
